Faraway Caye is a remote Honduras flats fishery purpose-built for serious permit anglers. Limited seasonal operation (March – early June) keeps pressure extremely low, preserving a fishery where permit remain aggressive, uneducated, and consistently present on expansive, pristine flats. Bonefish are plentiful, with daily opportunities to target permit in ideal conditions, and guides adjust constantly based on tides, wind, and movement to stay on prime water. This is a true permit destination kept intentionally untouched to protect the quality of the fishing.

  • Faraway Caye offers simple, comfortable basecamp accommodations on a remote Caribbean caye, purpose-built for serious flats anglers. The camp includes two private cabins and a large central yurt, all positioned directly on the flats with sweeping water views.

The main lodge serves as the hub for meals and downtime, featuring a restaurant and bar with fresh seafood, locally sourced ingredients, and hearty meals prepared daily.

Power is provided via solar and generator systems with charging outlets available, and Starlink Wi-Fi is accessible via the supply boat if needed.

The setup is intentionally minimal and low-impact, designed to keep pressure low and the focus squarely on world-class permit fishing.

  • Getting to Faraway Caye is straightforward, though remote. Guests fly into Roatán, Honduras (RTB), with direct flights available from several major U.S. hubs.

Upon arrival, guests overnight in Roatán before an early-morning private charter flight to Puerto Lempira on the mainland. From there, a lodge-arranged boat transfer delivers guests to Faraway Caye.

On departure, the process is reversed with a morning boat transfer back to Puerto Lempira, followed by the charter flight to Roatán and onward travel home.

For added convenience, YOTE can handle all travel logistics, including flights, hotels, and transfers, allowing you to focus entirely on the fishing.

  • Faraway Caye sits within a massive, remote reef system off the coast of Honduras, offering access to expansive flats that see virtually no angling pressure. The fishery is permit-driven, with consistent daily opportunities on pristine turtle-grass and sandy flats where fish remain aggressive and uneducated.

The lodge operates only from March through June, intentionally limiting pressure and preserving the quality of the fishery. During the right tides, permit tail in shallow water, while at other times they cruise deeper flats or follow eagle rays, creating multiple high-percentage shots throughout the day.

Bonefish are abundant and often large, found in everything from giant schools to quality singles, and triggerfish provide additional opportunities without pulling focus from permit. Fishing is split between wading and poling skiffs, with guides constantly adjusting based on tides, wind, and fish movement.

This is a true destination for anglers seeking world-class permit fishing in a remote, lightly pressured environment.
