Antelope hunting takes place late summer into early fall, when animals are highly visible in open country and weather conditions allow for consistent daily movement.

Primarily spot-and-stalk hunting in open terrain, generally less physically demanding than mountain hunts but requiring patience, glassing, and strategic use of terrain. Bow hunts often involve blinds, terrain cover, or decoy tactics to close distance, while rifle hunts focus on longer-range shooting across wide-open country.

Found across the western and southwestern United States, particularly in open prairie, sagebrush, and high-desert landscapes.
